Are you interested in making energy or water efficiency improvements to your home or business, but you aren't sure how to pay for it? The Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) has a program that may help you!
WRCOG has developed an Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation Program that allows residents and businesses in Western Riverside County to implement energy and water efficiency improvements using low-interest loans that will be repaid over time through annual property tax payments. California law allows for local jurisdictions to enter into contractual assessments with property owners for such improvements; WRCOG is implementing a regional program on behalf of its member jurisdictions in order to centralize responsibilities and realize cost savings. The City of Corona is proud to be a member of WRCOG and these programs are available to all Corona residents and businesses regardless of your water or energy provider.

What is the WRCOG HERO Program? HERO stands for "Home Energy Renovation Opportunity." HERO Financing is low cost, fixed interest rate financing for a broad range of energy and water efficient products and renewable energy systems. Homeowners repay the HERO Financing through their property tax bill. In order to be eligible to apply, your property must be located within one of the participating WRCOG jurisdictions.
The WRCOG HERO Program is offered through a partnership between WRCOG and Renovate America, Inc. The Program was launched in order to create jobs and reduce utility costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The Program provides HERO Financing for permanently affixed energy efficiency, water efficiency, and renewable energy products. HERO Financing is repaid through an assessment on your property tax bill over 5-20 years, based on the useful life of the products.
