Do you have a project you’d like to do with your students but haven’t been able to secure funding? The City of Corona Department of Water and Power is offering a Water Use Efficiency Grant, up to $5,000 per project, in the 2011/2012 School Year for projects that relate to water including, but not limited to, water use efficiency, water quality, water distribution, and water reclamation. There is $25,000 set aside for this program. How do you apply? It’s easy, follow these steps. If you have any questions along the way, please contact our Water Resources group at (951) 736-2234 or by email at
StopTheDrop@discovercorona.com.
- Complete the Grant Proposal Form. Give us an idea of the type of project you’d like to fund. For example, do you want to take your students on a tour of a wastewater treatment plant and need funding for the bus? Do you want to conduct water quality testing and need funding for supplies? Include the purpose of your project, short- and long-term goals, and an estimated project budget.
- Submit your completed Grant Proposal Form to the Water Resource group:
- Our Water Resources group will review your proposal.
- If your proposal is not approved you will receive a letter from us explaining why.
- If your proposal is approved you will receive an award notification letter and a funding agreement that needs to be signed by the School District.
- Route the funding agreement to the School District for signature and return the original documents to our Water Resources group by mail.
- We will sign the funding agreement and send you a copy for your records.
- Once we have a fully signed and executed agreement we will distribute 50% of your grant funding to the School District.
- Now the fun part: do your project, implement your program, conduct your tour.
- Once your project is completed please submit a final report to our Water Resources group with a summary of how the grant funding was spent and what your students gained from the experience. If applicable, please include pictures, reports, or any other back up documentation you feel appropriate.
- Our Water Resources group will review your final report.
- We will provide the final 50% of the funding to the School District.
