LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT BENEFIT ZONES AND CFD LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICTS

Landscape Maintenance Districts

The five Landscape Maintenance Districts (LMDs) in the City of Corona are independent from one another in terms of revenues generated, areas maintained, operation and maintenance costs and special benefit zone boundaries.  Each District has its own funding source and pays for its own areas responsibilities.  The oldest District, LMD 84-2, has 12 separate benefit zones which are also independent of each other.  LMD 84-2 was formed following the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972.  The remaining four LMDs were established following the provisions of the Mello-Roos Community Facilities Act of 1982.  These are Community Facilities District (CFD) 97-1, CFD 2001-1, CFD 2002-2, and CFD 2002-3.
