regional transportation

The Transportation Planning Section works in conjunction with other agencies to coordinate and plan improvements in the regional transportation system. By collaborating to secure funding through available grants, promoting an effective public transit system, studying transportation issues and coordinating construction projects within and around Corona, the City is gaining valuable support and creating lasting relationships to solve regional issues.

Major Projects

Don't Miss the California High-Speed Rail Authority's Community Open Houses

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) will host a series of Community Open Houses Meetings to share the results of the Preliminary Alternatives Analysis (PAA) Report released on March 3, 2011. The PAA Report includes many details regarding station and route alternatives. The goal of the Open Houses is to present current plans and obtain your input before CHSRA initiates the detailed environmental/engineering analysis later in 2012 (subject to funding availability). Agency and public input will be used in the ongoing refinement of alignment alternatives, station locations and design options. Click here for full documentation of the PAA.  If you are not able to attend any of the events below, check out the online presentation and give your thoughts by clicking here.  Download the open house schedule here.  Questions regarding the project can be sent to los.angeles_san.diego@hsr.ca.gov  or by calling (877) 411-7230.

SR-91 Corridor Improvement Projects

There are many short-, mid- and long-term projects planned to help improve traffic congestion on SR-91. Visit the Riverside County Transportation Commission website to get more information and project updates at http://www.sr91project.info.

State Route 91 Implementation Plan

The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), in compliance with Assembly Bill 1010, which authorized the purchase of the 91 Express Lanes in January 2003, prepares an annual Implementation Plan for SR-91 improvements. The proposed improvements span SR-91 from I-15 to SR-55, and are funded by excess toll revenue and other funds. This Implementation Plan provides a guideline for OCTA, RCTC and Caltrans to work in concert to improve driving conditions on SR-91. To find out more about improvements that are planned, go to OCTA's website at http://www.octa.net/sr-91.aspx
