Opposition to the State's Proposal to Abolish Redevelopment Agencies

The Devastating Truth Behind Eliminating Local Government's Economic Stimulus

The Governor's Proposal - Eliminate all community redevelopment agencies and use local tax dollars for schools and counties.

Residual Effects of the Governors Proposal - Eliminates thousands of private jobs; losses will be felt severely in all trades of construction, maintenance, industrial, retail, and professional fields. Eliminates local assistance to residential homeowners and businesses; through our local programs the Redevelopment Agency provides financial assistance to improve residential and commercial structures. Eliminates all financial possibilities for assisting needed infrastructure, rehabilitation of dated and underutilized commercial centers, projects that are job creators and blight eradicators. Eliminates our community's right to utilize its local tax dollars on local needs. Eliminates the peoples will to keep local dollars at the local level supported by the people with the passage of Proposition 22 - Local Taxpayer, Public Safety, and Transportation Protection Act of 2010. Eliminates a business sector in the state's economy that contributes over $40 billion in various economic activities within redevelopment project areas statewide that result in over $2 billion in state and local taxes, yearly.

Redevelopment in Corona - Since the Agency's creation, its completed countless local projects partnering with emergency responders, public works, private developers in commercial, housing and industrial fields, regional organizations (transit, flood control, etc.), local businesses, community residents, local organizations, etc
