Stop the Drop:  Water Conservation Program

Stop the DropCorona, it's time to "Stop the Drop!"

Water levels in the State of California are low, and getting lower every day. Go to the Metropolitan Water District's website to see the current water levels, as well as past water levels.

As of July 31, 2009, we are in a Stage 2 Water Alert. Now, more than ever, we need to conserve water. The adoption of Corona's Drought Ordinance helps to prohibit certain water wasting activities that will help all of us do our part to save water. Here are some ways to conserve:

  • Watering between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. is prohibited
  • Washing down driveways, sidewalks and hard surfaces is prohibited
  • All water leaks and broken sprinklers must be repaired in a timely manner
  • Allowing water to run off your property is prohibited

Changing our behavior towards water use is a major step towards dealing successfully with the current drought situation.
