Corona Police Volunteers

The Corona Police Department offers a variety of volunteer opportunities and welcomes volunteers to help with a wide variety of activities. In 2001, approximately 70 volunteers volunteered over 5,445 hours to enhance Police Department functions.

Opportunities Available

Police Department volunteering is primarily clerical, "hands-on" work. Possible assignments include helping in Records, I.D. Bureau, Crime Analysis, Communication Specialist, Finance, Animal Control, Mentoring, and Parking Enforcement. Communication Specialist volunteers provide additional assistance in emergency situations by setting up command posts and the Emergency Operations Center. Volunteers may also staff Community Police offices, and they are involved in many City events/fundraisers. Some assignments do not require public contact. Specific training is provided by each assignment.
